Harvesting

RadiKelp harvests dry and fresh Kelp along the south coast of the Western Cape in South Africa in terms of a harvesting concession granted by the Department of Environment, Forestry & Fisheries to its one shareholder. RadiKelp harvests Ecklonia maxima Kelp in the area between Gordons Bay and Hermanus by cutting fresh Kelp using divers or collecting Kelp washed out on the beaches in the area. Harvesting of seaweed has a very low environmental impact since seaweed is fast-growing.
